What: Ridgewood PTA and Menchie’s are hosting an event to help raise funds to buy extra school supplies. 20% of your purchase will be donated towards the school. Bring in a donation, receive a BOGO half off coupon for your next visit!
Attention Seniors of all Kent School District High Schools & Academies! Kent Area PTSA Council would like to offer you the opportunity to apply for a scholarship to assist with your post-secondary educational plans. Are you going to college, a university, vocational school or a technical college in the fall of 2017? Then you qualify for this scholarship!
Up to two recipients will be chosen from each of the four area high schools (Kentlake, Kent-Meridian, Kentridge & Kentwood) and up to two from the combined academies (Kent Phoenix Academy, iGrad & Kent Mountain View Academy). Amounts awarded will range from $500 to $1500 with no more than $1500 total being awarded at each high school. We could potentially be giving away $7500 total to assist KSD seniors with their post-secondary educational plans!!
Application deadline is April 12, 2017 so be sure to secure the needed documents with plenty of time to submit on time.

Help support the Fairwood Elementary PTSA by eating at Shakey’s on Tuesday, January 31st from 4:30pm – 7:30pm. 20% of all food purchases (beverages not included) will be donated to Fairwood Elementary PTSA. The Cinderella Project is always accepting donations of new and gently used formal and semi-formal attire. We served a record number of students this fall for Homecoming and would like to make sure our racks are well stocked for Prom season. If your student has a dress, tux or suit that they won’t wear again or doesn’t fit, please consider donating it. Donations may be left at the main office of any high school or the Kent Phoenix Academy. If you have any questions, please contact email@example.com
The Coalition for Refugees from Burma is an organization that supports recently arrived refugees in the Kent School District.
The Coalition is putting together school supply Welcome Packages for refugee youth who are enrolling in school for the first time. They need school supply donations (pens, pencils, backpacks, rulers, calculators, crayons, colored pencils, binders, folders, notebooks, graphing paper, etc.) or gift cards to Office Depot, Office Max, Staples, Target, Walgreens or anywhere else that sells school supplies.
Please share the coalition’s need with your school communities and PTAs. CRB-Donation-Packages. They are accepting donations through the second week of January and they would be happy to provide a tax deductible receipt for any donations made.
